Privacy Policy

Switchklip ("we", "us") operates switchklip.com. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum we need to operate the site and ship orders. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with third parties beyond the operational vendors below.

What we collect

• Order data — name, shipping address, email, phone (optional), and order details when you place an order. Required to fulfill the order.
• Payment data— credit card details are entered directly into Stripe’s secure checkout. We never see, store, or transmit your card number. Stripe sends us a confirmation token only.
• Contact form submissions — name, email, phone (optional), and your message when you reach out via /contact. Used to reply to your inquiry; stored only as long as needed to handle the conversation.
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4 collects standard pageview data (URL visited, referrer, browser type, approximate location from IP). We use this to understand which pages welders find useful. GA4 IP anonymization is enabled.
• Cart state— your selected size and quantity is stored in your browser’s localStorage so the cart persists across page loads. This stays on your device and is never sent to us until you check out.

How we use it

• To fulfill your order and ship the product
• To reply to your contact-form messages
• To send order confirmation and shipping notification emails
• To understand which content is useful to welders (analytics)
• To comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax records)

Vendors we use

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy.
• Vercel — site hosting. Vercel’s privacy policy.
• Microsoft (Azure / Graph) — transactional email delivery.
• Google Analytics 4 — site analytics. Google’s privacy policy.
• USPS / UPS — shipping carriers; we share your shipping address with them to deliver the order.

Cookies

We use the cookies that GA4 sets (for pageview measurement) and a small set of operational cookies needed for the cart and checkout to work. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

• Access / correction / deletion — email info@switchklip.com with your request and we’ll handle it within 30 days.
• Opt-out of analytics — install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Do Not Track — we honor browser DNT signals where technically feasible.

Data retention

Order data is retained as long as required for tax and legal records (US standard is 7 years). Contact form messages are deleted after the inquiry is resolved unless we need to keep them for support continuity.

Children

The site is intended for professional welders. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we’ll change the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be announced on the homepage for 30 days.
