American Torch Tip / Linde SW-1 Bulb Switch

What this switch is

The SW-1 is the classic bulb-style momentary switch that's been used on Linde TIG torches and ATTC equivalents for decades. Its rounded bulb body makes it harder to mount with tape; welders historically wrap zip ties around it which crushes the bulb housing.

How the Button Clip GTAW fits this switch

The bulb geometry is exactly where tape and zip ties cause the most damage — they compress the dome and the underlying contact mechanism. The Button Clip GTAW cradles the bulb without applying compressive load.

The Button Clip GTAW grips the switch at its outer body geometry only. There's no compressive force on the internal printed circuit board (PCB) or the momentary mechanism beneath it — which is the failure mode that kills these switches when they're mounted with electrical tape or zip ties. Install notes for this switch

Mounting steps are the same across all three switch families covered here. Snap the Button Clip GTAW onto your torch handle, drop the switch into the clip housing so its body seats against the cradle, and rotate the assembly to put the button under your thumb.
