What this switch is

The SW-1F is the flat-button momentary switch shipped on most TIG torches with a remote start button option. Single contact, normally-open momentary action. Signals the welder to initiate high-frequency arc start (HF) on the welding machine. Mounts to the torch handle externally — historically with electrical tape or a zip tie.

The SW-1F flat profile sits flush against the torch handle. The Button Clip GTAW grips around the switch body's outer geometry without compressing the internal momentary mechanism.

The Button Clip GTAW grips the switch at its outer body geometry only. There's no compressive force on the internal printed circuit board (PCB) or the momentary mechanism beneath it — which is the failure mode that kills these switches when they're mounted with electrical tape or zip ties. Install notes for this switch

Mounting steps are the same across all three switch families covered here. Snap the Button Clip GTAW onto your torch handle, drop the switch into the clip housing so its body seats against the cradle, and rotate the assembly to put the button under your thumb.
